We are looking for a dedicated, inspiring teacher, with a love of learning, to join our teaching team. The successful candidate will share our values and ethos, our passion for primary teaching, and our commitment to provide the best possible education for every child in our community. It is likely that this role will be in Early Years or in Key Stage Two. For the right candidate, there is also the opportunity to take on subject leadership of core and/or humanities subjects.

At Hawley Primary School we actively look for a diverse staff team. We value the diversity of thought, insights, innovation and creativity that this brings to our learning community and to our pupils. We are committed to our anti-racist strategy, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where everyone wants to work, remain and progress, irrespective of race, gender, disability or religion.

We are looking for someone who wants to join a school with a carefully designed, enriched curriculum and who will think deeply about how to bring this to life in the classroom, using their individual strengths and those of our pupils. Being a one-form entry primary school allows teachers to shape and lead their own class team, while being part of a very reflective, collegiate whole school team dedicated to continual learning and professional development. We will support your development through a programme of carefully designed in-house and external training, and we expect to learn from your unique strengths and experience too.

Hawley are very excited to be entering a partnership with outstanding local primary, Eleanor Palmer. We are starting a new phase of our journey under the guidance of experienced leadership who have a strong track record of developing teaching and learning with colleagues in Camden and beyond. This partnership will also allow our staff to work collaboratively across both schools to share planning and best practice.

At Hawley, we have:
● a socially and ethnically diverse inclusive school community in which no child is left behind;
● pupils who are excited to learn, who are informed about the world, and who feel safe and ready to progress;
● a teaching culture characterised by collaboration, innovation, creativity and continuous learning;
● a team approach in which there are high levels of trust;
● a newly constructed school building filled with light and space;
● a commitment to enrichment, including specialist music and PE teachers, and a wide variety of trips and residentials, which deepen children’s knowledge;
● well established partnerships with Camden Learning and wider networks;
● an engaged whole school community with many traditions and special events;
● an experienced leadership team who are dedicated to the development and progression of their staff and pupils;
● very good public transport links moments away – Camden Station on the Northern Line and a short walk to Camden Road Overground, as well as local buses into central London.

Informal visits or conversations with the Headteacher are welcomed by prior appointment. Please contact the School Office to arrange a time via admin@hawley.camden.sch.uk or on 020 7485 5020.

Further details can be found in the Personal Specification document. Please download an application form, and return it either in person or by email to admin@hawley.camden.sch.uk. CVs will not be accepted. Shortlisted candidates will be notified by telephone.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any successful applicant will be subject to a DBS check and other relevant safer recruitment requirements.
